Horseshoe Bay Sunset Painting

We all have our favourite places, where we feel at peace and a sense of belonging. Horseshoe Bay at Turtle Lake located in Saskatchewan is one of mine. Sitting at the beach at any point of the day is pure joy and being there at the sunset is especially beautiful. I wanted to capture this beauty in art. This acrylic painting measuring 16 x 20 inches on stretched canvas, is my depiction of a serene lakeside sunset. The painting features:

Two wooden Adirondack chairs facing the water are positioned on a sandy shoreline,  where I often sat alone of with friends to relax and enjoy the tranquil scene,

Gentle waves ripple across the lake, reflecting the vibrant colours of the sunset. The light transitions smoothly from a golden yellow near the horizon to rich blues in the deeper water,

The sun sets between two tree-covered shorelines, casting warm reflections across the water and adding depth to the painting. The distant trees are silhouetted against the radiant sky.

I wanted the sky to highlight the gradient transitions from deep blue at the top to soft yellows and oranges near the horizon, beautifully framing the setting sun.

The unframed artwork evokes a sense of peace and nostalgia, with warm tones and natural details creating an inviting, tranquil atmosphere for viewers to enjoy. It has been sealed in glossy finish and hangs from wired d-rings on back.
